The Fool represents ourselves at the beginning of our life lesson or journey. Everything in the world looks new and exciting: new situations, people, and experiences. All of these new things appear so inviting that we can’t wait to jump in and explore new territory. Who Needs a game plan? Who needs to think before they act. Just be the Fool. Jump in. Play it by ear. Pretend you just turned 21!

Upright: New choices, new decisions, a new course of action, a new situation

The Fool represents anything entering into our lives which is new and will require us to make a choice or a decision. Take the job . Don’t take the job. Buy the house. Don’t buy the house. You get the idea we have all been there.

Reversed: Not making a choice, making a bad decision

When the Fool is reversed use caution in new situations. The Fool doesn’t come with a parachute. Ask yourself-Are beginning a new project on a solid foundation? Are you taking a leap of faith. I can’t speak for you but that has not worked out well for me in the past. Have you considered the consequences of your actions. Is the timing right?

An interesting thing about choices and decisions, you either make one or you don’t. If you avoid making a decision, you are choosing not to do anything. Consequently you have made a choice.

Now look at the card examine it and write the meaning in your journal and select a meaning to write on your card. That’s right initially we will cheat the cards until you learn every meaning.
